Be The Change. Volunteer.

All YVC volunteers must attend an orientation and complete their signed membership application before volunteering for their first HOM-YVC project.

Youth and Adults are needed to be trained as YVC Volunteer Leaders! All YVC projects are managed by leaders who provide the leadership and commitment to make the project a worthwhile and enjoyable experience for our other youth volunteers. Your time commitment is minimal but the rewards are long-lasting. To become a Volunteer Leader, please e-mail youth@HandsOnMiami.org.

Annual Days of Service

YVC hosts large-scale projects throughout the year to honor several annual days of service. These include:

  • Global Youth Service Day: This is the LARGEST service event in the world! Join millions of youth each April to celebrate the contribution of youth to their communities through volunteer service.
  • Hands On Miami Day: The 1st Saturday of every November, HOM hosts its annual HOM Day! It is our largest service and fundraising event. Join thousands in volunteering at over 20 different sites around Miami. Breakfast, t-shirts, and a celebration party post-project are included.
  • Martin Luther King Day: In January, the YVC honors MLK's mission to make the holiday "a day on, not a day off". Volunteers participate in projects such as school revitalization, painting murals, or planting landscaping.

Community Service Camps

The YVC offers Summer, Winter, and Spring Service Camps, where you can:

  • Earn up to 35 community service hours!
  • Explore critical issues in our community related to homelessness, environmental issues, disaster preparedness, and more!
  • Hear from exciting guest speakers!
  • Participate in meaningful, direct-service projects like feeding the homeless, reading to children, and beautifying a park.
  • Take part in fun, high energy "Hands On" learning activities!
  • Making a HUGE impact on your community!
  • Gain skills in leadership, team-building, and thinking critically!
  • Learn to make a lifelong commitment to volunteering!
