The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)
The YVC Youth Advisory Council, composed of youth volunteer leaders from all over Miami-Dade County, plays an important role in developing
the Youth Volunteer Corps for teenagers ages 13-17. Together with HOM staff, the YAC oversees the development and management of YVC projects and partnerships, provides thoughtful insight, and helps promote youth volunteer service to the community-at-large. The YAC creates, organizes and manages a variety of service projects for youth to volunteer during weekdays, evenings and on weekends.
A Youth Advisory Council member’s core responsibilities include: making an active commitment to serve the YVC, upholding the YVC’s mission and goals, providing program leadership, guidance and advisement, reviewing and approving new program initiatives and changes, serving as a community liaison, promoting the YVC in your school and the community, and above all, serving as a positive role model to other YVC members.

Our 2008-2009 YAC members are: (left-right) Kaylin Clements, Ryan Leibowitz, Monica Trueba, Toni Darwish, Emily Northrop, Laura Groenendaal, Medina Mody, Alexandria Segovia, Emilie Misset, Mia Spigelman. Not pictured: Sam Parrish, Evelyn Suarez, Ernesto Ruiz, Amie Rodriguez, Bryan Mora
