Mayors’
Reception
Launching "Build A More Beautiful Miami-Dade"
Fund
|
The Mayors of Miami Dade County came
together at the Ritz Carlton in Coconut Grove on
Tuesday,
May 22, 2007 to
launch Hands On Miami's Build A More Beautiful
Miami-Dade Fund. On this evening, Hands On Miami
shared its vision of a socially responsible
corporate sector with the 20 Miami-Dade mayors in
attendance and 120
corporate representatives. The night’s success was
furthered by an opening drive of $18,000 in pledges
and commitments.
Supported
by 34 Miami-Dade County Mayors, the fund will help
Hands On Miami multiply the impact of their
revitalization and beautification projects
throughout the county.
Through a $50,000 challenge grant from the George E.
Batchelor Foundation, the Build A More Beautiful
Miami-Dade Fund will allow Hands On Miami the
opportunity to provide extreme makeover-like
projects, beautifying and improving the physical
environment at schools, senior centers, daycare
centers, recreational facilities and other
community-based agencies.
