with the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) Summer
Community Service Camp! Open to all
Miami-Dade youth residents, ages 13-17.

Earn community service hours in one week by
exploring critical issues in our community
related to homelessness, environmental issues,
disaster preparedness, and more

Hear from exciting guest speakers
·
Participate in meaningful, direct-service
projects like feeding the homeless, dancing with
senior citizens who have Alzheimer’s disease, or
restoring the ecosystem to a native mangrove
estuary
·
Take part in fun, high energy, ‘Hands On’
learning activities
·
Learn to make a life-long commitment to
volunteering
·
Gaining skills in
team-building, leadership and thinking
critically about how you can make a difference
in your community!
This
year, Hands On Miami is hosting 5 summer camp
sessions. Each session will be organized by
focusing on 1-2 specific themes or topics. Spend
a week with YVC to earn community service hours
by participating in fun, meaningful and
rewarding camp sessions dealing with the
environment, homelessness, people with
disabilities, disaster preparedness and more!
Each session combines direct-service projects
with fun, dynamic educational activities on the
weekly topic, as well as leadership exercises to
increase teambuilding and leadership skills.
