Tree Hugging - Helping to Restore Virginia Key by Planting Trees & Native Plants
Join us as we support the efforts of MuVE - the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science's Museum Volunteers for the Environment initiative - as they work to restore Virginia Key to its natural state.
Volunteers will assist with the planting of native plants and trees which will help to resculpt the land, provide protection from storm surge, and expand the natural habitat for our South Florida coastal ecosystem.

NEED TO KNOW:
- Volunteers should be able to bend at the knees and waist, squat, and comfortably lift 15lbs.
- You should bring a refillable drink container to ensure you stay hydrated. Plan to wear breathable clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. We also suggest wearing a hat and sunglasses to make your experience even more enjoyable.
- Closed-toe shoes are required for participation.
- Volunteers are responsible for providing their own work gloves. Volunteers are responsible for providing their own sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
