HandsOn Miami's Global Youth Service Day Project - Ludlam Trail Enhancement

Join HandsOn Miami's Youth Advisory Council, the Miami Marlins Marlins Ayudan, Green Mobility Network, Friends of the Ludlam Trail, Florida East Coast Industries and the Travis Manion Foundation for an all-ages, youth and family-friendly volunteer opportunity designed especially to celebrate Global Youth Service Day - the world's largest service event!

This project, designed by members of HandsOn Miami's Youth Advisory Council (a youth Board of Directors composed of 19, 13-17 year old students) will rally 250+ community members to join together and show that everyone, no matter their age or ability, can effect positive change in our Miami-Dade County community.
Volunteers will assemble at a section of the Ludlam Trail just north of A.D. Barnes Park to:

+ "erase" over 600' of graffiti
+ remove more than 2 tons of illegally dumped trash and debris
+ complete "pop up" projects along the trail led by members of HandsOn Miami's Youth Advisory Council

All volunteers will earn community service hours for participating, and, thanks to the Miami Marlins Marlins Ayudan, all participating volunteers will receive 4 tickets to attend the April 19th game to see our Miami Marlins take on the Washington Nationals.  Volunteers will also get to go on the field at Marlins Park for a special volunteer recognition ceremony that will take place before the first pitch.

And, thanks to support from Points of Light and the Travis Manion Foundation, we will also commemorate April as the Month of the Military Child -  a special celebration established to underscore the important role children play in the Armed Forces community.
If you are the child of an actively serving member of the US Military or US Military Veteran, please email Darrill@HandsOnMiami.org
