Hands On Miami Day 2008

Hands On Miami Day After Party

We'd like to invite all Hands On Miami Day volunteers to join us at Virginia Key Beach Park to celebrate the completion of your projects. Volunteers will have free parking and entrance to Virginia Key Beach Park. Food and refreshments will be provided, and volunteers can enjoy rides on the antique carousel by the sea, as well as the mini-train.

Driving Directions From the North: Take I-95 to exit 1A. Turn left at the second intersection, then travel east across the Rickenbacker Causeway for three miles to the second traffic light, turn left onto Virginia Key Beach Drive

From the South: US-1 towards Brickell Ave. Turn right and travel east across the Rickenbacker Causeway for three miles to the second traffic light, turn left onto Virginia Key Beach Drive.

Virginia Key was dedicated on August 1, 1945. It was known as the "colored beach" during the era of racial segregation in the South and was the only beach in Miami-Dade County legally available to African Americans at that time…learn more.
