3 Opportunities to choose from:
1) The 4th Annual Human Race South Florida (Race Participants)
The Human Race is a nationwide fundraising event hosted by HandsOn Network affiliates to support valuable humanitarian programs that strengthen nonprofits and neighborhoods through the power of volunteerism.
The 4th Annual Human Race South Florida will kick off HandsOn Miami's and HandsOn Broward's 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend Celebration. The event will feature a 5k Run/Walk along the beautiful Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. Timing services will be provided by Split Second Timing, with live results posted immediately following the race and an awards ceremony for top finishers. The event will serve to unite the South Florida community in a healthy, family-friendly 5k fundraiser to support programs that honor Dr. King’s vision and life of civic service.

2) Human Race Cheering Section and Clean Up Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to be stationed along the race route and at the finish line where they will offer encouragement and cheer on the 5K participants. Cheering station volunteers become cleanup volunteers to help break down and clean up once the race has ended.

MLK Weekend Celebration - Signature Project @ Lincoln Memorial Park
On Monday, January 16, 2017, millions of people across the country will unite in service in honor of Dr. King. Individuals, groups and families from all cultures and communities will join together to positively impact our neighborhoods.
How you can help...
Located in Miami's Brownsville neighborhood, Lincoln Memorial Park is considered to be one of the most important African American cemeteries in Florida. It was founded by the notable Dr. Kelsey L. Pharr in 1937 and is the final resting place for some of the most notable figures in Miami.
Despite this, the property has become overgrown, and there are no permanent caretakers to fight nature's desire to reclaim the land.
Volunteers will collect trash and debris, remove weeds, and trim back overgrown brush that has covered many of the plots and prevents the natural beauty and significant history of the site to be recognized.
