| Butterfly Delight at Deering Estate (FX) |
Agency: Miami Dade County Park and Recreation - Deering Estate
Description:
Did you know … that
Charles Deering collected over 4,000 pieces of art and had one of the largest art
collections in the world?
Get your hands dirty at the Deering Estate in sowing native plants and shrubs in the community butterfly garden. Help create a paradise for butterflies on the Deering Estate’s 444 acres while encouraging habitat restoration. Volunteers will help grow plants from seedlings, remove invasive exotic plants, plant butterfly friendly plants, and maintain the garden. For more information on how to create a butterfly garden see project resources. And Remember! Hands On Miami and the Deering Estate are really counting on you to be there, so if you sign up, please be sure to attend. If you are unable to attend please remove yourself from the project or contact your project’s Volunteer Leader or the Hands On Miami office to let us know you can’t attend AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Removing yourself from a project you can’t attend allows another volunteer who would like to attend a space to join the project! We don’t want to disappoint those we are trying to serve. "It was a great experience." Hands On Miami Volunteer Kelly Astorga This is a family-friendly project. Minimum age with an adult is 9.
