| Good Times at the Miami Bridge (FX) |
Agency: Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services
Description:
Did you know … that the Miami Bridge serves more than
700 teens every year? PLEASE NOTE: In an effort to be even more accountable to our volunteers
and agency partners, Hands On Miami volunteers are now required to
present ID when signing in at all volunteer opportunities. Volunteers
13 years of age or older must now present some form of ID which matches
your name on the project’s sign-in sheet. By volunteering, you can make a difference in the lives of these teens. Come spend an evening at the Miami Bridge - a shelter for homeless, abused, neglected, and runaway teens. The Miami Bridge acts as a safe space for them while they work through a tough time in their life. Activities include ping-pong, board games, or arts and crafts. Your visit will truly make a difference in the lives of these teens! "I had an
amazing time at the shelter. I got to play monopoly with a few of the
kids. We had alot of fun! I will definitedly continue to come back to
this event." Hands On Miami Volunteer “Had a great
time playing Monopoly with my new friends! I
look forward to coming back in the future.”
Hands On Miami Volunteer “Very fun night and a great
way to volunteer. The event was organized well and the youth
were happy to be around all the volunteers”.
Hands On Miami Volunteer "Service to
others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."
- Mohammed Ali And Remember! Hands On Miami, the Miami Bridge, and most importantly, the teens at the Miami Bridge are really counting on you to be there, so if you sign up, please be sure to attend. If you are unable to attend please remove yourself from the project or contact your project’s Volunteer Leader or the Hands On Miami office to let us know you can’t attend AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Removing yourself from a project you can’t attend allows another volunteer who would like to attend a space to join the project! We don’t want to disappoint those we are trying to serve.
*Volunteers must be 21 years and older.
