Agency: The Salvation Army
Description:
Did you know … 1 in 50 children experience homelessness
in America each year? PLEASE NOTE: In an effort to be even more accountable to our volunteers and agency partners, Hands On Miami volunteers are now required to present ID when signing in at all volunteer opportunities. Volunteers 13 years of age or older must now present some form of ID which matches your name on the project’s sign-in sheet. Do you like to read and want to share your interest with a deserving group of children who like to listen? Here, volunteers will visit the Salvation Army shelter for homeless children to read bedtime stories and make sure their dreams are sweet. Can you think of a better way to relax after a day in the office or classroom? And best of all...the project is only 1 hour long! Sign up today and be rewarded with a meaningful Tuesday evening at "Bedtime Stories".
And Remember! Hands On Miami, the Salvation Army, and, most importantly, the children currently in residence at the Salvation Army are really counting on you to be there, so if you sign up, please be sure to attend. If you are unable to attend please remove yourself from the project or contact your project’s Volunteer Leader or the Hands On Miami office to let us know you can’t attend AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Removing yourself from a project you can’t attend allows another volunteer who would like to attend a space to join the project! We don’t want to disappoint those we are trying to serve. "Wonderful. The children were adorable. The leader was excellent. I brought my husband with me. We had a great time!" Hands On Miami Volunteer “It was an amazing experience. I'll be coming back every
week :)”
