Description:

Grab your knitting looms, needles and crochet materials, and join us in making hats and scarves for individuals undergoing cancer treatment at The Wellness Community in Greater Miami. The Wellness Community provides free psychological and emotional support for people with cancer and their families. Experienced and non-skilled knitters are welcomed to participate—no experience needed! Volunteers must bring their own materials. This project is open to active and pending volunteers.

And Remember!

The Wellness Community is really counting on you to be there, so if you sign up, please be sure to attend.  If you are unable to attend please remove yourself from the project or contact your project’s Volunteer Leader or the Hands On Miami office to let us know you can’t attend AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  Removing yourself from a project you can’t attend allows another volunteer who would like to attend a space to join the project!  We don’t want to disappoint those we are trying to serve.

Hands On Miami Volunteer

Family-friendly: minimum age with an adult is 13. (10-20 volunteers) Please Note:Volunteers must bring their own needles, looms, cotton yarn.This project is open to active and pending volunteers. YVC FRIENDLY: Youth volunteers can attend this project without an adult, if they are already a member of the Youth Volunteer Corps Program. To be a member of the YVC, please attend a HOM101 Orientation.
