Did you know… that
74% of homeless family members are children.
PLEASE NOTE: In an effort to be even more accountable
to our volunteers and agency partners, Hands On Miami volunteers are now
required to present ID when signing in at all volunteer
opportunities. Volunteers 13 years of age or older must now present some
form of ID which matches your name on the project’s sign-in sheet.
Please consider contributing
an hour and a half this month to help the women and children of the
Miami Rescue Mission.
Your help is needed at the
Miami Rescue Mission's Center for Women and Children! Join us this
month for a short evening of spending time and reading to the toddlers
and young children who are currently in residence. Volunteers are
needed to watch over these youngsters while their mothers take part in
the Miami Rescue Mission's evening programming. They are always grateful
to those who volunteer, so please sign up knowing that your time is
needed and valued.
Only female volunteers are allowed to participate.
For more information on Miami Rescue Mission and the
Center for Women and Children, please see the project resources below.
And
Remember!
Hands On Miami, the Miami
Rescue Mission, and most importantly, the women and children currently
residing in the center are really counting on you to be there, so if you
sign up, please be sure to attend. If you are unable to attend please
remove yourself from the project or contact your project’s Volunteer
Leader or the Hands On Miami office to let us know you can’t attend AS
SOON AS POSSIBLE. Removing yourself from a project you can’t attend
allows another volunteer who would like to attend a space to join the
project! We don’t want to disappoint those we are trying to serve.
"Great
project! We had a lot of fun reading and playing with the kids and the
size of the group was perfect..." Hands On Miami Volunteer
