Adopt North Shore Park

The City of Miami Beach’s North Shore Open Space park is a hub of the Miami Beach community.  It is used daily by residents and visitors alike who walk, run, bike, play and explore throughout the park’s winding trails and beautiful beach.  However, the 34.61 acres of open space that give North Shore Open Space Park its name can’t maintain itself; that’s where you come in!

Volunteers will enjoy a nice start to the weekend by helping to beautify the park – collect and remove trash and debris, help to repaint the fence that becomes continuously weathered due to sand and salt water exposure, remove invasive exotic plants, help to maintain natural areas, and more.

And, if you’re so inclined, feel free to make a day out of your experience!  Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a day in the park, or at the beach, knowing that you helped to make it a better place for yourself and all others who are enjoying it alongside you.

NEED TO KNOW:

  • Minimum age with an adult is 8.  Ages 16+ can sign up and take part on their own.
  • Volunteers should bring along work/gardening gloves to ensure hands are protected.  We cannot guarantee that gloves will be provided for you at this project.
  • Volunteers should dress comfortably for outdoor landscaping/gardening work.  Closed-toe shoes are required - flip-flops and sandals are discouraged.  A hat and sunglasses will make your experience even more comfortable!
  • Pro Tip: Consider packing a picnic lunch and staying after the project to enjoy the park you helped to beautify.
