Paint the Streets - Volunteers Needed to Assist with New Mural

The City of Miami has received a grant from KaBOOM! to turn a dead-end street into a "play street" by painting the road in a way that will inspire active play. One play street will be created in each of the City's 5 commission districts, and Miami-based artist Xavier Cortada has been selected to create the play space in District 3.

Volunteers will work alongside Xavier to bring his vision of "Mangrove Hop" game - a game which will challenge players to hop from one mangrove seedling to the next. And YOU will be the one making this game possible by painting the game elements (mangrove seedlings that Xavier and a group of artists will sketch in advance) on the street!

Things for volunteers to keep in mind:
The project will take place near the Brickell/Roads area of Miami. Volunteers will receive an email once they have signed up for the project which contains the address and arrival instructions.
Minimum age for volunteers is 17 years old and 10 years old for those accompanied by an adult.
Work will be outside in exposed areas and you will be working with paint, so please dress accordingly.
The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available.
