Hurricane Season Readiness 2021 DIY Project
Emergency Preparedness is important to all community members, as no one is too young nor too old to take steps to protect their life and property during an emergency. However, for many low-income families, it can be difficult to prioritize purchases that are meant to remain in place and unused when resources may be limited or strained. The goal of this DIY is to provide a family with an emergency “go bag” they can easily grab when evacuating in a hurry.
Participants will receive two hours per Emergency Kit completed, for a maximum of 8 service hours. If the activity is not completed correctly, service hours will be adjusted accordingly.

Important DIY drop off information:
- In-person drop-offs are only accepted at the HandsOn Broward office located at 5815-B North Andrews Way Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
- We will only accept drop-offs on Thursdays from 12 PM to 5 PM (knock on the 5815B door)
- Please include your expected drop-off date on the form on the following page, if it changes please let us know.
- All of your project items must be together (i.e. in a bag, envelope, or box)
- Your completed DIY report must be included with your project
