SPRING 2021 DIY Project
Learning about our feelings and how to express them well is the first step towards teaching toddlers about mental health. Teaching children about their emotions will help them become mentally strong. Kids who understand their emotions and have the coping skills to deal with them will be confident that they can handle whatever life throws their way. To help begin teaching children about mental health early on, we will provide the toddlers ages 2-5 of Le Jardin community center with a Feelings Kit to help them learn and manage their emotions effectively and continue the discussion about feelings at home with their families.
Participants will receive two hours per Feelings Kit completed, for a maximum of 8 service hours. If the activity is not completed correctly, service hours will be adjusted accordingly.

Important DIY drop off information:
- In-person drop-offs are only accepted at the HandsOn Broward office located at 5815-B North Andrews Way Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
- We will only accept drop-offs on Thursdays from 12 PM to 5 PM (knock on the 5815B door)
- Drop-offs on April 13 will be 12-3 PM
- NO DROP-OFFS WILL BE ACCEPTED May 4th, May 5th, and May 6th
- Please include your expected drop-off date on the form on the following page, if it changes please let us know.
- All of your project items must be together (i.e. in a bag, envelope, or box)
- Your completed DIY report must be included with your project
